When kids become available, we will contact all the people on our waiting list, and the kids will be available to be reserved, on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have found kids elsewhere, we would appreciate your letting us know, so that we can keep our waiting list updated.
RESERVATIONS – If you wish to make a commitment prior to kids being born, you may submit a non-refundable $50 deposit. Those who have paid an advance deposit will have first "right of refusal" of kids born. They will be contacted in the order in which an advance deposit was received, and will have 48 hours to reserve or pass on available animals. This $50 advance deposit is refundable only if Black Creek Farms is unable to offer a kid of the sex that was requested when the $50 deposit was paid. When our offspring are born, Black Creek Farms will contact first, those who have paid a deposit, and then those on the waiting list. If you are interested in purchasing any of the available animals. we invite you to visit our farm, and meet the animals, prior to making a purchase decision, but you may also make a decision based on the photos and information we provide. If you decide to purchase any of the available animals, a deposit of 50% of the purchase price will be due within 5 days, payable by PayPal Friends and Family, check, cash, or money order. This deposit is refundable, only if Black Creek Farms is unable to fulfill a reservation, or if the animal is found to be unsound, as discussed below. At this time, we encourage you to make any necessary preparations (shelter, fencing, etc.) for your reserved animals.
ANIMAL PICK UP – Most of our offspring will be ready to leave our farm 8 weeks after they are born. We will contact you, in advance, with the date that the reserved animals will be ready for pick up by their new owners. Reserved animals are expected to be picked up, during day light hours, within 7 days of this date – beyond that date, a boarding fee of $2/day/animal will be charged. The balance of the purchase price, and any applicable boarding fee is payable at the time the animals leave our farm, by cash, money order, or certified check. If reserved animals are not picked up within 14 days after the specified pick up date, the prospective buyer relinquishes any deposit paid, and any ownership rights to the animals.
ANIMAL HEALTH & WELFARE – Black Creek Farms is committed to raising, breeding, and selling healthy animals, to qualified new owners. Keep in mind that goats are herd animals, and need at least one herdmate. With that in mind, we will not sell a single goat, unless the buyer already has other goats. Wethers (castrated males) make good companions for intact bucklings or doelings, and are a cost effective way to add a companion goat. Intact bucklings can not be housed/pastured with doelings. Prospective buyers are welcome to obtain a pre-purchase veterinary exam, at their expense, to be conducted at Black Creek Farms, prior to the animals leaving our farm. If an animal is judged to be unsound during the veterinary pre-purchase exam, any deposit money will be refunded. Once an animal leaves our farm, we are not responsible for any illness or injury that may occur. We genuinely care about our animals’ welfare, and provide them with a safe environment, healthy nutrition, and appropriate immunizations and medical care, and we expect that they will receive the same level of care at their new homes. Since animal ownership requires an ongoing personal and financial commitment, we ask that all prospective owners carefully consider whether they are willing and able to make this commitment, prior to purchasing an animal from our farm. We want your livestock experience to be enjoyable and successful, and we offer information and ongoing support to help you achieve this goal. We encourage you to contact us, if you have any questions or concerns!
