At Black Creek Farms, we are committed to raising healthy and contented livestock. We have an active breeding program for our Nigerian dwarf goats. Our animals have a safe, healthy environment and sound nutrition. They receive the recommended vaccinations, and are screened regularly for parasites, to ensure a healthy herd.
We maintain closed herds. All of our Nigerian breeding stock are registered, and we have an active breeding program. All intact Nigerian goats are offered with applications for ADGA registration, and wethers are sold without registration. Our Nigerians have been tested annually, and have been negative for CAE, CL, and Johne's disease. Because we maintain a closed herd, and only purchase new goats from farms that also test annually, we will test annually for CAE and Johne's (after age 6 months of age). Because blood testing for CL is unreliable (reference WADDL), and because we have never had a case of CL, we will not routinely screen for CL by blood testing. Potential buyers may request additional screening, if desired at their own expense.
We welcome guests to our farm, and ask that you contact us to arrange a visit time, so that we can be available to spend time with you! We enjoy sharing our experience with others, and will gladly mentor new owners!
