Our herd is negative for CAE, CL, and Johne's. Since we maintain a closed herd, except for adding goats that also come from herds with negative test results, we will submit routine testing annually for CAE and Johne's for existing herd members (6 months and older). Any goats added to our herd will come with current negative test results, or the goat will be quarantined until negative results are obtained. A copy of test results are posted under our "more" tab and available upon request. In the past, we also did blood testing for CL; however, since blood testing is unreliable (only culture of an actual abscess provides accurate results), we no longer do routine screening by blood testing for CL. We have NEVER had a case of CL, and all previous blood testing of our herd has been negative. If a potential buyer desires any testing that we do not routinely perform, we can submit specimens at the buyer's expense.
We do not keep names on our waiting list from one year to the next, so if you are interested in the current year kids, please contact us again to be added to that year's list. Once you are on our list, we ask that you please let us know if you acquire kids elsewhere, so that our list is kept current. Once the current year's kiddings have begun, we will contact all the people on the wait list, and suggest that you check our website regularly, which will be updated with available kids. Our kids will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the sale price is required (within 4 days) to reserve a kid, which will be available for pickup when weaned at 8 weeks of age. Most of our kids are dam-raised and are well socialized. Occasionally, bottle babies may be available, if, for any reason, they are not being dam-raised. If you are interested in a bottle baby, please indicate that when you apply for our wait list. We may decide to retain any kids born on our farm. Any available kids will be listed on this page. **It is important to know that goats are herd animals and will not do well without the companionship of at least one other animal of it's own species. We will not sell a single goat unless the buyer has other appropriate companion animals. It is also important to know that intact bucklings may be capable of breeding as young as 8 weeks of age. Doelings can usually NOT be safely bred until about one year of age. Consequently, buck and doe kids can not safely be housed/penned together.
Some of our adult goats may be available and will be marked as such on our website.
You can contact us by email, by clicking on the "Contact" tab at the top of this page. We require that you read and agree with our Sales Policy (found by clicking the "more" tab at the top of the page). In order to reserve kids, we require that you sign and submit a copy of the Sales Policy page with your deposit. It is important to do your research, and understand the commitment you will be making as a responsible goat owner.
